57 Split
Guitarist Craig Vitro, along with wife Ashley, began writing songs with long-time friend Brian Thomas on drums in the living room of their house in Bend, Oregon before finally posting fliers in search of a bass player. A short time later, Conor Ferguson, founder of Infringement Records, ran across one of these fliers and decided to call the number at the bottom, in hopes of finding other musicians in the Central Oregon scene with similar tastes. The match proved amiable, and soon 57 Split was ripping through a unique brand of short, fast, simple punk rock songs inspired by bands like early Descendents, Naked Raygun, and The Peechees. Before breaking up, the band headed up to Portland, Oregon to record 11 songs at KAOS studio, all of which will be released in the form of a full-length on Infringement in the near future.

800 Octane
Since starting the band in 1994, 800 Octane has put 100,000 miles on their van over 5 U.S. tours, released three CDs, one 7", and shared the stage with the likes of Guttermouth, Face to Face, All, The Dwarves, and The Mighty Mighty Bosstones just to name a few. Together, Dave, Eric, Justin and Jim play a brand of "super rock" all their own. To date, they have released one 7" titled "Get in the Van" on Infringement Records, "The Return" CD on New School Records (produced by Conrad Uno), "The Kelvis" CD on We Got Records, and their self-released "Hoss" CD, with another Uno-produced full-length in the works also on New School. 800 Octane's recordings are flawless and their live shows are not to be missed.

The AnXieties
The Automatics were one of my favorite bands in the 1990s. I first met them in a record store in Bend, Oregon, and proceeded to book them shows as often as I could in the Central Oregon area. Fronted by Jesse Kimball, who was also in the garage band The Spider Babies, and Jesse Sutherland, who went on to form The Epoxies, and backed by Ryan Scott's unconventional, yet perfectly timed drum beats, The Automatics recorded a split 7" with Lopez on Small Town/Infringement Records, 3 CDs and a slew of 7"ers for Mutant Pop Records, and a final full-length for Just Add Water before ending their run as one of Portland's best punk rock bands.
Sorry, we don't have any photos of this band. If you have some, please share them!

Bottles and Skulls
Hailing from San Francisco, California, Bottles and Skulls have released 3 CDs along with 3 7"ers thus far. Coming up next for them is their soon to be released split with Portland, Oregon's almighty Lopez.

Juvenile Wreck
Juvenile Wreck, a four-piece from Columbia, Missouri, recorded a couple of decent poppy-punk records, including their split 7" with the Peabodys on Small Town/Infringement Records, before disappearing into oblivion. Besides the split with the Peabodys, their tunes can still be found on a few various recordings on Mutant Pop Records.

Motorhome
One of the loudest, rockingest bands in the bay area today, Motorhome plays the amped-up rock and roll with two scorching lead guitars and a tight rhythm section. Their "Commando" EP is their debut, and available on Infringement Records. The band continues to play show around the San Francisco area, and is currently working on a CDEP to be released on Infringement in the near future.

Muddy River Nightmare Band
Having began in summer of 2000, the Muddy River Nightmare Band have moved along quickly to become either the most revered and respected, or the most hated and despised band in Portland. They have been fortunate enough to share the stage with such bands as Dead Moon, Midnight Thunder Express, Fireballs of Freedom, Three Years Down, Lopez, and 800 Octane, and many other local and national acts. They even convinced people in British Columbia that they were a good idea to bring to Naughty Camp 2001 and 2003. Fueled by sarcasm and hate, it is their goal to warp the minds of the drunk and the young. Self-deprecation and alcohol fuel The Rock with influences from 70's rock/metal, punk, 60's garage, oldies and rockabilly. They have recently appeared on two compilation albums Drinking About Songs and Damned For All Time, Volume 4. With their new 7" EP "Too Fat For Love," to be released on Infringement Records, they will continue to abuse the the northwest, and then... the rest of the world. THINK ABOUT IT

The Peabodys
The Peabodys were a 3-piece pop-punk outfit hailing from Warren, Pennsylvania. Known for their catchy, goofy, witty songs about girls, The Peabodys put out an impressive handful of releases on Mutant Pop, as well as a couple of smaller labels. Their split 7" with Juvenile Wreck on Small Town/Infringement Records demonstrates Eric Peabody's cleverness as a songwriter, especially evident in the classic "Don't Call it a Breakup," while Andy and Aron hold everything together in the rhythm section. Where are the Peabodys now? I have no idea.

The Radicals
The Radicals were a punk band from Redmond, Oregon consisting of Jeremy Reed on vocals, Zac Withers on guitar, Kyle Hickman on bass, and David Wilson playing drums. Where are they now? Zac runs a studio next to the infamous John Henry's in Eugene, Oregon, while according to sources Kyle is getting his Ph.D. in some field of Mathematics in Minnesota. The whereabouts of the others remain unknown, but fortunately they left behind a split 7" with Thrust on Small Town/Infringement Records to remind the Central Oregon scene of its history.

RC5
RC5 stands for Robb Clarke Five, after their founder and ex-Zipgun frontman. Robb, along with his three bandmates (including the amazing Todd Ohashi on lead guitar) play a form of stripped-down punk rock and roll that has taken them through Europe with Zeke and earned them the right to share the stage with such notables as The Supersuckers, Electric Frankenstein, and the Exploding Hearts. After releasing their debut 7" on Small Town/Infringement Records, the RC5 went on to release 7"ers with My Fat Ass, Junk, and a CDEP with Buttermilk Records before landing with the UK's Twenty Stone Blatt. No matter which label releases the goods, or which bar puts on the show, the RC5 always impress.

Thrust
Thrust was, in the late '90s, probably the most popular punk band in the Central Oregon scene. The band featured Jamie, who had formerly played in Naked Agression, and went on to form another great band that no one outside of Bend has ever heard of called Gray is Grey before moving back to Wisconsin. The breakup of Thrust also caused Greg, along with Brian from 57 Split, to form Bend's best punk band right now, The Rats. Unfortunately, the only thing Thrust left to the public was their split 7" with The Radicals on Small Town/Infringement Records.
